What Was In This For God?
The biggest question in life is: What was in this for God? By “in this” I mean; why are we here, what does God want from us, what will we do in eternity and, the all-important, “why is there air?”
Regardless of your theology, your history or your ideology one thing about life is difficult to deny, we are here because God wanted us, all of us. If he didn’t want us then we either evolved, were seeded by aliens or God is petty, capricious and cruel. I know he’s not. If you are grappling with the character of God, good. Please read on with your best open heart and mind.
What was in this for God? Us. What does he want from us? To enjoy life together, forever. If you can nod yes to that statement, wonderful. If you can’t, I understand that as well as possible. I was raised in church, educated in Bible college and attached at the hip to a life of ministry, service and uncertainty. But I’m not uncertain anymore. Where I Go From Here
I’m half way through my 65th year and I’ve finally found some durable peace, functional freedom and applicable hope. I’m going to enjoy life from this moment forward as much as possible. The endgame and my day-game are the same: Enjoy life with others and with Christ.
Everything I want to accomplish and all that Christ has created me to do can be accessed and engaged using that day-game strategy. Without going into gruesome detail, I have employed a plethora of other “day-game” strategeries that were not sustainable or all that enjoyable.
What I Plan On Enjoying Forever
-Love is eternal. Love is also completely temporal and available. God is love, everyone who loves is…
-Good work is eternal. When you do what was created for you. “Masterpiecing” your life
–Eternity is a place of joy. My Joy will transfer completely and continue intact from here to there.
-I am eternal. My true self is fully compatible with heaven, the rest is at best questionable.
-My friendships are forever. The friends I miss the most are still alive in my heart. Christ owns my heart.
-My part of everything God is doing is eternal. From the start I’ve been crucial to his endless plan.
-Knowing and being know is eternal. As I am know by God I will know him. The fruit of friendship.
